• Touch-up paint will be labeled and left for future convenience.

About the Owner

Antonio Valakas, Founder of CT Painters

CT Painters was founded in 1973 by Antonios Valakas. Antonio immigrated from Greece to the United States in 1950 with just ten dollars in his pocket, and established a well-recognized painting company in Connecticut.

"Antonios Valakas believed that investing in a quality paint job can mean the difference between painting every few years or a paint job that will far out last an inferior one."

A resident of Monroe, CT for over 30 years, he was known by all for his kind and gentle mannerisms as well as the ability to help anyone at a moment's notice.

Gus Valakas, Owner

His son, Gus Valakas, started working with his father in 1996, just one year after graduating from college. By 2003, Gus had partnered with his father. Antonio taught Gus everything he knew about the painting trade. When Antonio retired in 2006, Gus was ready to take on ownership responsibilities for CT Painters.

"It was drilled into me that proper preparation and quality materials are needed in order to execute a high quality paint job and that's what I do on each job." ~ Gus Valakas

Antonio passed away in 2012, but his tradition of quality proudly continues on through his son Gus.
